There is a proverb that time and tide wait for none. We cannot stop tide the but can slow down the society of it by building a dam on the stream. Moreover, we can not stop our time but can make our time productive in professional and personal life by proper management. The process of organizing and managing your time is called time management. Good time management helps us to make the best use of our time. 

                           

Yes, Today I will talk about how can you make the best use of your time. Read the following-

Track Your Time 

To manage your time, At first, you have to find out that how you waste your time. The easiest way to track your time is using apps Like Harvest, Toggl, Rescue Time, Calendar, Hour stack, Ever hour, etc. By using this app you can see how your time goes on and where you have to make yourself more productive. You will also find out where you must not spend your valuable time.                     

To-Do List

Make a list of your task and highlight the most important task with probable deadlines. You should prioritize the most important work by having a short deadline.

Set Your Goal

You should set the goal and purpose of your work and take time to think about it. Actions with purpose can be done more productively. Your actions depend on your preference. Maybe you prefer a successful career or may prefer investing your time into building a rewarding family life. you should not think about others. You should focus on what you care the most about.

Planning Of The Day

You should set your plans for the day. You can take few minutes in the night to make a list of your tasks for the next day or you can do this in the morning before starting your work. You should be proactive in your work. Do not leave the task to do at the last moment before the deadline. It will make you stressed and will affect your productivity.    

Proper Sleep Management

Make ensure proper sleep. Sleep is essential to recharge your body and mind. At least 7 hours of sleep is necessary for an 18-60 years person. Proper sleep will keep you healthy and away from disease. Sleep management is very important to make you productive in your work.

Important Task At Peak Energy

Do the important work when you are most energetic. If you are a morning person then morning is the best time for you to give your best performance. If you are comfortable at midnight, then give your best performance at that time.

Taking Frequent Break 

Take a break during your work. By taking a break your peak energy will stay a long time and it will keep your mind fresh. Taking a break improves focus and concentration and provides the opportunity for your mental reset. After a break, Work can resume with more energy and motivation. Working without taking one or more breaks only leads to mental and physical fatigue which may lead to burnout in the long run. As the human brain can focus only 90 minutes at a time. So, Without any break, it’s very difficult to stay focused and motivated. 

Structure your free time

You should structure your free time. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi had written in his book named Flow that Sunday at noon is the unhappiest hour in America because at that time people are the least productive. His research shows that people are oddly more motivated and focused at work because of the structure work provides and he recommends structuring your free time.

 Follow 80-20 Rule

You can follow an amazing rule the 80-20 rule. It is also called the Pareto principle which suggests that 80% of results come from 20% of the effort put in. To apply this rule, take a note and write down 5 or 10 tasks you need to fulfill to make you productive. Do the first task today. After completing the first task give focus on the second task. Then step by step complete all the tasks. After completing all the task you will find you in a better place than the before.

                                             

Avoid Half Work

You have to avoid half work. For Example, you are scrolling your social media account during writing an email. On Forbes James clear write that in their age of constant distraction, that’s stupidity was easy to split their attention between what they should be doing and what society had bombarded them with. To avoid half work, he writes that “out significant time to focus on one project and eliminate everything else.” For example, You can check email before starting the project work and then only focus on that project. You can also carve out a few hours to devote to an important meeting but will leave the phone in another room.

Avoid Perfection

Do not think about perfection, just try to make it accurate. Because perfection takes more time and you will not get enough time for other work. Perfection needs changes again and again that will kill your valuable time. Do your best and move on.

Update Your Schedule

Keep your schedule updated if your working hour changes or you need to do extra work or for any valid reason. You can change your schedule when it is needed.

Replacement of bad habits

Replace your bad habits with good habits. Charles Duhigg, author of “The Power Of Habit," coined the term keystone habits But, what are they? Simply put, they’re habits that can transform your life, such as exercising, tracking what you eat, developing daily routines, and meditating. These habits replace bad habits and solicit other good habits. As a result, you’ll be healthier, more focused, and better suited to manage your time.

Organize your workplace

Organize your workspace. If your workspace is organized you will easily find items when you need them. It will save your time from losing on searching the needed item.

Reward yourself

When you complete a task completely then reward yourself. The reward for any success will make you happy and realized that your efforts can bring a positive result. It will inspire you to get more success in the future.
